Shake-up to BDCA Competition format for 2012/13 Season

There has been a major shake-up to the BDCA First and Second Grade competition for the 2012/13 season, with Blayney gaining admission to both competitions.

A recent vote by BDCA delegates on whether Blayney Senior Cricket Club should be allowed to enter the top two grades was met in favour of the Blayney club. This will see a seven team competition in First Grade with a bye each week.

The Second Grade competition will also see a change in numbers for the new season. In addition to Blayney joining the competition, Bushrangers will also nominate a side in that grade to avoid having a bye.

The BDCA are still investigating the number of turf wickets available to it, and in particular the condition of King George Oval in Blayney.

At this stage, the BDCA Presidents Cup competition will either be a seven or eight team competition, depending on final team nominations. Bathurst City are joining the competition and St Pats/Old Boys are nominating two sides.
